I have tried several different pc and every bios and sata config i know of with no luck. Hddhackr just will not even see my drive.
WD2500BEVT 24A23T0. Manufactured March 2011. Has enyone had any luck with this new of a drive? I have not had any issues in past but haven't flashed a drive in over a year. Used to do them all the time with no issues. Can anyone assist please? When I run the tool, my WD2500 doesn't even show up. I get NO ATA devices present every time.....

EDIT: this question comes after reading ALL the FAQ and seeing that "several people have flashed the 10/11 drives with no issues". If I have posted this question in the wrong area ie: research, please move and let me know where to retrieve. I am getting back into the swing of things and need to flash a few drives but am not able to pick them up at all. Once again, sorry if in wrong place.

I did. I also read the FAQ which stated that several folks have done these new drives. I have been racking my brain on this for like two weeks now. I give up. It must not support the brand new drives i guess.

Hello everyone ! I must start by thanking all the guys that made HDDHackr v1.30 !  Cheesy Then I must thank InsaneNutter for the great tutorial on modding a XBox 360 Slim HDD.

I succesfully modded a WD 250Gb Scorpio Black Series HDD into a fully compatible XBox 360 Slim 250 Gb HDD.

I used :

   - WD2500BEKT 250gb, 7200rpm, 16mb buffer
   - HDDHack v1.30 Build 20110303

I followed step by step InsaneNutter's tutorial and after a 2 hourrs work (changed and double checked the BIOS settings) I got my brand new XBox360 Slim fully compatible HDD !

Thank you again guys and remember that your work is highly appreciated ! I wouldn't have done it without YOUR KNOWLEDGE and HELP !

Here are the pics...can anyone tell me plz how to upload the photos ?

Hi,

I have an Hitachi HDD model number HTS543225L9SA02.

I'm wandering if this can be firmware updated to put in an xBox 360 4Gb Slim?

I saw this when searching online:

http://qc.surepromise.com/Soft_Show.asp?SoftID=4429

It is this exact same model, so I suspect there may be some way of doing so, but how?

Thanks

hddhacker only works on western digital drives, it cannot write an hdss.bin to any other type of drive.

you would have known that if you had bothered to read up on the subject.

Hi,

I found the following drive:
http://discount-cabin.com/shop/product_info.php/western-digital-250-5400rpm-sata2-8mb-inch-notebook-hard-drive-wd2500bevt-scorpio-blue-p-3429?currency=GBP&osCsid=bd5462ca01cf5a0ee3eb281a1f4374cc

I am guessing that drive would work?

Is there any instructions on how to get it working? I read some for version 0.9 which sounded easy enough but on the OP it mentions you need an original 360 drive which isn't what the first guide I read said.

Thanks

Kevin

In fact, I bothered reading the subject. My question was clear, I saw an HD somewhere with the exact same model number than mine that has been somehow hacked/updated to be supported on an xBox 360. I never mention that this could or not be done with HDDHACKR, but I suspect there is a way.

That behind said, I ordered an original xBox slim HD at $99 and I'm just waiting to have it shipped. 4Gb is really not enough to play with this toy!  Grin

@ meall

the "stock" hard drives come from several manufacturers, hitachi are one of them.

they sell m$ the same type of drive you have, and then m$ format the drive to FATX and add the security sector to make it an "Xbox 360" hard drive.

just coz you have the same type hard drive doesnt mean you can write an HDSS.bin to it. its a coincidence.

If you had read up on the subject you would know that the only way to create a cloned drive is by using HDDHackr on a Western Digital drive only.

the site you seen were either selling original drives, or lying about the type of drive in them. i reckon its the latter.

@KevinM2K

that drive will work, but you will need to find a 250GB hdss.bin to use with hddhacker to clone it to a stock drive (easily found for free on internet)

instructions? in the readme of hddhackr its a good read.

UPDATE!!! I got my new XBOX360USB PRO in the mail and flashed my new HDD WD2500BEVT 24A23T0. Manufactured March 201 in 20 sec. It rocks! It supports all the new WD drives as the hddhackr without it dont. I am pleased so far with this USB pro. Does make flashing even easier than before. I have done over 200 drives now and this tool is a must I think to do them quicker and get em back to the box they belong. Thanks again JF, C4EVA and Team X and all who are in the scene.

Hi, been looking thru everything...

its seems that ver 1.30 method doesnt works well with WD 320GB Scorpio Blue HDD BEVT....

Tried using the 1.25 ver of hddhackr.exe, IT WORKS!!!...

when i use the ver 1.3 ver of hddhackr, it does not prompt to partition the 0/2/3 partition at all....and didn't seem to work.
I followed all the steps in the guide but had a similar issue as some other people here.
When hddhackr successfully finished flashing the drive, I never got the option to create partitions. I decided to put the drive into my xbox360 to see if it would work. It was not recognized.

so I flash back using UNDO.BIN that I created, flash again using 1.25ver hddhackr, it do all the 3 task for me automatically...namely, the sectors 16-22 rewritten successfully, create partition 0/2/3 successfully and finally flashed the firmware successfully....pop in the drive, and it detected as 228GB...nice!!

Is there anything missing code in the ver 1.30 from ver 1.25??

hay guys. I fallowed the tutorial and for the most part, and it worked. I used HDD hackr v1.30, but you guys forgot to include the BIN files. I ended up using a 250GB WD Scorpio. However, i found that fallowing the guide was a bit hard. However, once i figured it out, it seemed like a piece of cake. I also ended up doing a video tutorial about how to do it.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRanCwITI5A&feature=channel_video_title

i know this is my first post, but i feel as though my video tutorial can really help those struggling to figure this out. Also, that anti bot thing with the clock to register for this forum was a bit ridiculous. but that's neither here nor there.

also, here are the BIN files i so desperately needed.

Those bin files contain copyright MS code which is why they are not included.

I suggest that you edit your post to remove the link.
